I tried connecting the OLPC laptop to my wireless and it crashed.

After the computer started back up I try connecting to my access point again. I switch to the screen that allows me to see all of the connected networks, click on the circle representing my wireless access point, enter my password and finally press OK. Since pressing the OK button there has been no feedback that anything is actually occurring. I’m not sure if it has even attempted to connect to my wireless router. I’m still able to move the mouse. I’m able to change the scope of the screen. There’s no indication in my router’s log that the laptop reached out to it.

I return to the screen I’ve decided to call the ‘network scope’. I can now see my less access point is a blinking brown circle. I don’t know why it changed from a ⅓ filled circle. I don’t recall if it changed colors.

I click on the circle again. I am immediately prompted by a request for my wireless key. The brown circle is now solid and it is 100% filled. The circle has a green border. There is also a lock in the lower right hand corner of the circle. I’m going to try entering my wireless password again.

I enter the password and click ‘OK’. Just like before, the computer does nothing in response. I click ‘OK’ again, no response. I click ‘OK’ again, still no response.

There is a light on the lower left side of the monitor that looks vaguely like an eyeball. It blinks periodically. I suspect it’s a hard drive activity light and has little bearing on the wireless status.

I click ‘OK’ again. At this point I should probably give up attempting push ‘OK’ until I’ve changed something. I keep thinking, “maybe it’ll work this time” rather foolishly.
